19. DIY Strategic Plan inaugural scholarship winner: Congrats to Somerset Recovery!
This Fall, we introduced our inaugural scholarship designed to aid volunteer-run organizations and groups serving our communities.
This scholarship grants the winner access to our DIY Strategic Plan program's standard package. Nominees were requested to complete a shortlisting survey, followed by a raffle draw to determine the recipient.
We are excited to reveal Somerset Recovery as the well-deserved winner of this scholarship for the January 2024 cohort. Somerset Recovery, a volunteer-driven organization based in St. Thomas, has been championing mental health and recovery through retreats, workshops, panels, and presentations for the past three years. We eagerly anticipate supporting them as they endeavour to expand their impact sustainably.
While we received 10 nominations for the scholarship, regrettably, we could not grant scholarships to all nominees this time. However, here are alternative pathways:
Keep an eye out for upcoming 2024 scholarships: We plan to continue providing scholarships for each DIY Strategic Plan cohort in 2024 (such as Spring and Fall 2024). Stay tuned for announcements regarding these opportunities.
Explore support from current sponsors/funders: If you are interested in joining the program, consider leveraging your existing relationships with sponsors or funders for assistance.
Expect new donors to come aboard in 2024: In the New Year, one of our key goals is to collaborate with local funders to extend more scholarships. If you have suggestions or can make introductions, please share them with us. We will keep you updated on our progress.
